Joshua Fowler is a new member to i3Detroit as of May 2019. Josh is an A.R.E. candidate with 4 years of professional experience under multiple licensed architects along with 5 years of educational experience at an NAAB accredited university. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science: Architectural Studies from Southern Illinois University in 2013 and went on to earn his Master of Architecture from the same university in 2014. After graduating he found work with AAIC Inc., an architecture firm in the St. Louis metro east area where he played critical roles in a diverse multiplicity of over 15 projects. Most notably involved with the new 20,000 sq. ft. Wood River Police Station, where he functioned as project lead under a project manager in order to carry the project from schematic design all the way through the bidding phase. He further aided in the marketing of AAIC with his experience as an amateur photographer and was a website design consultant for AAIC’s new website.

Current Goals

He is currently striving to become a licensed architect in order to fulfill his personal aspirations and in order to become more knowledgeably well rounded in his architectural career. As the tides of life turn, he was looking for a new place to settle down and finally call his own. Michigan has an intriguing architecture scene teeming with potential, which makes it an ideal location to continue my career. Josh is currently working as an architectural designer at the University of Michigan's Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) department.

Maker Space Experience

He was supervisor of Southern Illinois University's Digital Fabrication Lab following 2 years as an assistant, working with such equipment as a 32"x18" and a 24"x12" Universal Laser System laser cutter, two Makerbot 3D printers, and one 96"x48" ShopBot CNC Machine.
