Hi, my name is Bravin Neff. I hope to join i3 Detroit very soon!

I grew up in Milford, Michigan. I moved to Royal Oak in 2006, and my residence is about 2 miles away from i3 Detroit.

My educational background is in economics and mathematics. I have a BA in economics from Wayne State University. My hobbies include philosophy, guitar playing, recording music, photography, inline skating and cycling.

My professional experience is almost exclusively in the manufacturing industry and the CNC machine tool industry. I have been a CNC machinist since 1995. In 1995, after running a couple of Dae Woo 2-axis lathes, the third machine I ever setup, programmed and ran was a Haas VF-3! I think that is a cool coincidence, given that i3 Detroit has this exact model (which is, I believe, from the same era I used to run!). I have setup, programmed and run 2, 3 & 4 axis lathes, 7 and 9 axis multitasking lathes, 3 axis vertical machining centers, 4 axis horizontal machining centers, 5-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers and the occasional bridgeport. I have a been an applications engineer and manufacturing process engineer for 3 of the largest distributors of CNC machines in Michigan, and these days I am in sales, selling Okuma and Hardinge CNC machines.

I have also been a professional guitar player, and recently I designed a couple electric guitars in CAD that I hope to machine here at i3 Detroit.
