Coolant

Checking Coolant Levels

  • Visually inspect reservoir level at hole in back of HAAS. Full is around 2 inches of top.

Adding Coolant

This section under revision - please call Thad if you have any questions. 810.287.3443

  • Only add coolant when the machine has not been run recently or coolant will drain all over the floor. If coolant is needed, prior to adding coolant, pull out coolant tank and clean out the chip traps. Use the big rubber glove.
  • The concentration of coolant will affect sump life, tool life, and surface finish.
  • Prior to adding coolant:
  • 1. Check the Brix level with the refractometer, it should be around 9. That is 9% by volume is to be coolant. If you are not familiar with using a refractometer just search online for a video. It is a very common tool and there are many videos.
  • 2. Use the Blaser Blasocut BC 940 SW behind the Haas.
  • 3.
  • Using 5 gal bucket, pour 5 gallons of water, from large sink by the media room or garden hose at front of building if connected, into the HAAS through the front of the machine into the chip auger trough. Pour on top of the Rustic to help begin mixing.
  • Rinse blue cup to get the gooey and sticky Rustlick out of the cup.
  • Turn on pump, grab cleaning hose and spray into the Haas to mix the Rustlic with the water.
  • Check level and repeat as necessary.
  • Make sure coolant tank is pushed all the way back in or coolant will leak out of the machine onto the floor.

Automatic Oiler

Checking Levels

On the back left of the Haas is a 6" cube of smoky plexiglass which contains way oil for the Haas. Since it is transparent, you can see when it gets low. Or when it gets critically low and alarm will trigger on the Haas console.

Adding Oil

Use the Mobil Way Oil which is on the back wall behind the Haas and the small funnel. Wipe out the funnel after use. Do not fill above the DO NOT FILL ABOVE THIS LINE line.
