Hybrid Meeting Etiquette
- Be excellent.
- Attendance and voting can be found in the #meetings slack channel.
- Please show up early if you are concerned about your audio.
- If there is no one waiting to speak feel free to do so at the next opportunity.
- If there is someone waiting to speak, please say that you are raising your hand in the google call chat. (This will be demonstrated)
- Please refrain from other side conversations, these can be distracting for the rest of the meeting and make it difficult for the chair to keep track of what's going on.
- If you're in the space remember that having a single person speaking at a time is helpful for those attending online.

- July 18, 11am-7pm
- July 19, 12pm-5pm
Looking for more people to help! (Fill out volunteer form here!)
- We need representation for Jewelry, Machine Shop, CNC, Media, and Paint Zones
People making things: (ask if they need any help!)
- Alex: a plasma-cut -> powder coated freebie (details TBD)
- Paul (inaudible): 3D printed maker coins
- Nate: little acrylic cube puzzles
- MaryLaura: ceramic trays to glaze and take day-of (selling)
People helping with social media:
- Nadia, Fallon
People making things day-of:
- Osama: customizable cutting boards (for sale)
- Alex: plasma-cut signs (for sale)
- Someone could do something with the laser cutter -- keychains?
Let Aj know if you want to sell things during the event, or bring in anything to show off!
- We're considering having a gallery / 'show off' stands set up throughout the space. If you have anything you'd like to show off, let me know!
- I need to know who wants to sell stuff and show things off early so I can plan for them and so we can advertise it, so the sooner you let me know, the better!
Gratitude Corner
- Thank you to everyone who's agreed to help with the Open House so far, and extra thank you to those of you who came to our planning meeting the other night!
- Thank you to those who helped with fixing the internet connection After it got cut (wunder how?)
- Nate thanks Jody for spreading his knowledge!

There is now a computer station between the Prusa printers. The computer is mounted to the back of the monitor using a bracket designed, plasma cut, and powder coated at i3. Thank you User:Ivy!!
- Computer has Prusa slicer and Anycubic (resin) slicer loaded onto it, as well as Blender and FreeCAD and some other utilities
- Also has links to network printing for Prusa slicers so USB drive is not needed.
- Anycubic slicer is a bit wonky due to being in a Wine container, you need to manually move files to the Downloads folder to access in the slicer, then manually save printer gcode files to the downloads folder and manually move them to your USB drive. Sorry.
- Can access the i3 fileshare from here

So much update!
VM Server
We have a new vmserver, WOPR to replace Hardac Thanks to User:Ivy, User:Nbezanson, and User:aurekana!
everything is migrated or decommissioned, except for cameras
we are looking into replacing zoneminder with frigate and considering how we want to handle the move from hardac zonemidner to wopr zonemidner or wopr frigate so we still have access to at least 60 days footage
homeassistant
it's updated! and a bunch of esphome stuff has been fixed!
User:Ivy is amazing
network hardware
We have new network stack! Thanks to User:ThomasA for the donation!
we are fully unifi now, so the APs, switches, *and* firewall are all configured in the same place! It's shiny!
patch panel
we're planning to move the patch panel from the south end of commons inside the current media lab
Thanks once again to User:ThomasA's hardware emporium for the network rack donation!
the big rack inside commons is going to go where the current server rack is, and the patch panel and servers will go into it
Ivy has been fighting monoprice for a week or two now to get tax exempt stuff, it's been a lengthy and arduous quest, but it looks like they're winning

- The ironing station has some new cool features, fabricated right here at i3.
- Currently working on finishing chairs and making "pedalstals" for the foot pedals of machines you want to use for the day at the 4x8 table. We have a tall stool you can sit at, and now making a foot rest for the pedal so it's reachable. We're making it adjustable so multiple people can use it.
- Just a reminder you need to be signed in to the CRM to make a reservation of the 5x10 table. 6 hour max at a time.
- Do not leave materials to go home and sleep, go to work, etc. If you have to run out and grab a bite or a spool of thread, leave a note with name, contact, when you left and when you're returning. Zone rules are on the wiki, as well as printed in a folder and left in the zone for your easy reference.
- Trying to choose a time and day for an initial room introduction and info session, hoping to get something in this month and then start up more sessions later this summer.
- This is a tag month. This is your last chance to remove the yellow tag from your plot -- after this meeting, I will be writing up to 23 parking tickets, and you'll then have to explain to me why you need a plot you haven't touched in ~90 days if you want to keep it.
- A proposal will be put on the agenda soon for changing our storage to a rent-based system, something adjacent to what Maker Works has
- This is on here now to give people a chance to share any thoughts / opinions they may have
- It will be either monthly or 3-month intervals, and pricing will be based on size of plot
- This would replace the tag system -- if you're paying, and you continue to pay, you keep your plot. If you stop paying, you lose your plot and your things will be moved to the lost and found with a parking ticket.
- Various opinions:
- Concerns about suddenly charging for space because it's not a consumable
- People pointed out that space is a resource and a privilege for people to pay for. People also keep spaces and don't use them responsibly. This incentives people to stay on top of their storage.
- Concerns about people starting to leave things in zone instead
- Other alternatives: establishing a storage committee (nobody signed up though), make individuals more accountable for plots
- Added a partial roof storage system to the Tool Crib. A short vertical lip on the back side of the storage surface helps prevent items from accidentally sliding off. The typical items planned for storage on the Tool Crib roof will be those items such as: overflow screwdrivers, additional PPE stock, tools that have not seen much use lately, etc. Natural light and space lighting can still illuminate the two alcoves, but the underside of the roof storage will be painted white to increase visibility. Items moved to the roof storage area will have their new location updated in the Tool Crib wiki.

- Someone in Slack mentioned that i3 is not set up for using a soldering iron to fuse 3D printed pieces together, which is something I am interested in. What might need to be done? Someone mentioned noxious fumes that we are not set up to handle. Does anyone have any details about this?

- I started setting up the screen printing area.
- We don't have four color just yet, nor a shirt platen yet
- to use the heater plug it into the outlet on the SW exterior corner of sewing only.
- single color is possible
- I unpacked the Yudu. It has power. It's on a temporary board on the shelf. Read the instructions.
- There is a dedicated craft iron at the screen printing station, for inks if that's the setting method you choose.
- Please clean up. I'll be researching the cleanup process for the inks we have and posting it up on the shelving.
- I would like to hang a sheet of and pieces of slatwall on the east wall of Craft Zone, in the area of the green shelving that is set for the screen printing stuff, but need some helpers to hang and/or cut and hang. Either this evening or sometime in the next couple of weeks? I won't be here for Potlock and I'm hoping to do more setup of the area before the craft weekend/open house.
- please see the craft room slack channel for more info.
