Intro

Resin Printer. Not as user friendly as the Form 2 printers, but this is the printer we have. Process flow is completely different from the Form 2 so will require different training, however the training for this printer is directly applicable to most hobbyist resin printers.

Rules

Mandatory Rules:

  • Clean up after yourself: wipe up any uncured resin on printer housing, cover, control panel, table, and build platform with paper towel and 99% IPA.
  • Empty resin tank after use: either use fill unit to reclaim into bottle or manually empty tank into bottle, then clean resin tank with paper towel and 99% IPA and reattach to printer.

Instructions

Part preparation instructions:

  • Use AnyCubic Photon Workshop for slicing files. Other slicers might be usable but not tested.
  • TBD

Printer preparation instructions:

  • TBD

Starting a print:

  • Check to confirm that resin tank is assembled to printer, and screws are tightened down fully.
  • Check to confirm that resin is present in resin tank or connected to printer auto-fill unit.
  • Check to confirm that build platform is present and attached to Z-axis, and that build platform surface is clean and free from prior parts or debris.
  • Insert flash drive into right side USB port of printer.
  • WHERE IS FILE AT
  • TBD

Finishing a print:

  • Check to confirm that print shows 100% complete on control panel and build platform is stationary at the top of the Z-axis.
  • Place some paper towels on the table in front of or next to the printer.
  • Open the printer cover by lifting and tilting back.
  • Unscrew the build platform knob, then pull the build platform forward off the Z-axis stage, taking care to drip any excess resin from the build platform into the resin tank.
  • Use the plastic scraper to scrape and direct excess resin from the top and bottom of the build platform into the resin tank.
  • Set build platform upside down on the paper towels so that the build surface is facing the ceiling.
  • Close the printer cover to protect the uncured resin in the resin tank from excess UV light.
  • Use the metal scraper to scrape and pry the print off the build platform.
  • Place print into 99% IPA Wash Station, let soak and rinse based on resin guidelines (default 20 minutes).
  • Once Wash Station is completed with its cycle, the basket will raise automatically. Remove part and place into Cure Station, using cure time and temperature as specified for resin used.

Cleaning the printer:

  • Use paper towels and 99% IPA to wipe off uncured resin from build platform and use metal scraper to remove any debris or previous print parts from the build surface.
  • TBD
