- A community of creative hackers and makers, sharing resources and inspiration
- A 15,000-sqft workshop in Ferndale, Michigan, hosting hundreds of tools divided into dozens of Zones.
- An collaborative interdisciplinary space, where we share every tool you've ever dreamed of and some you haven't, all under one roof. You'll make things here that you couldn't make anywhere else.
- Completely volunteer-run, independent of corporate influence or profit motive
- Continuously operating since 2009, inspired by and part of the global hackerspace movement
i3Detroit is not...
- A commercial job shop -- you can't pay us to make something for you, but you can come make it yourself
- Just a woodshop, just an electronics lab, or just a laser cutter -- we're all these things and more, we're whatever we decide to be
- Professionally maintained -- we're all volunteer, so you might have to fix things before you can use them.
