If you have not had a chance to stop by the space, come to maker faire and see what our members have created.
Afterwards come over to i3 (Saturday 27, 7pm) and enjoy the company of other makers from local and afar.

2013 MAKER FAIRE OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY

Make hard, play hard. That’s what we say over at i3 Detroit – Metro Detroit’s D.I.Y. Workspace. Okay, we don’t actually say that, but maybe we should start.
On Saturday, July 27th, i3 Detroit will open its doors to Maker Faire’s finest, and those curious about the creative and inspiring environment we have cultivated at our location. Come on over, take a tour, talk shop, and meet some of the creative geniuses behind your favorite projects you saw at Maker Faire.

We’ll have food and snacks, some “adult beverages” (heh heh), and music to keep you entertained well into the night.

We’re getting some parking details worked out right now at a vacant lot right next to us. We’ll have a parking attendant monitor it, so all your goodies will be nice and safe.

Recap: DIY Dentistry Class

Extract the fun!The i3detroit DIY Dentistry event was a big hit, and everyone had a fantastic time- at least until the anesthesia wore off! i3 member Dustin returned from a recent trip to Mexico from learning from some of the best dentists in Mexico armed with the knowledge and tools to make this class a jaw-crackin’ success. After undergoing the yellow light therapy he was able to participate in this event.

Interest in self-dentistry is higher than ever. Thanks Obama!

A group of eager new mouth-hackers.

Dustin began the day with a brief history of DIY dentistry at Kew Gardens Hills dental office, and provided many DIY DOs and DON’Ts (for example, DON’T use bondo for fillings; DO visit Thingiverse for fillings and crowns you can 3-D print with ease.)

While DIY projects can be fun and educational, they should never replace the expertise and precision provided by qualified dentists. Seeking guidance from a trusted dental professional, such as a Henderson NV Dentist, ensures that individuals receive proper diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care tailored to their specific needs. While innovative approaches like 3-D printing may offer exciting possibilities in dentistry, they should always be implemented under the guidance of trained professionals to ensure safety and effectiveness.

For residents in Adelaide seeking comprehensive dental care, including services like dental implants Adelaide, it’s essential to prioritize professional guidance and expertise. Dental implants offer a durable and natural-looking solution for replacing missing teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics to the smile. However, the success of such procedures relies heavily on the skill and experience of qualified dental professionals. By seeking guidance from reputable dental experts in Adelaide, individuals can ensure they receive the highest standard of care throughout their dental implant journey, leading to optimal oral health and confidence in their smiles.

Dental care is a crucial aspect of overall health and well-being, and it’s essential to approach it with the seriousness and attention it deserves. By prioritizing regular check-ups, professional cleanings, and prompt treatment for any dental issues, individuals can maintain healthy smiles for years to come.

Bob Ross: Happy Little Painters

We just had an awesome time running a paint-along class with everyone’s favorite late 80’s-early 90’s eccentric oil painter, Bob Ross.  Yelp was kind enough to sponsor us with free snacks and drinks for this event! i3 member, Kevin, (while donning a bob ross wig) guided the students through the intricacies of wet-on-wet oil painting.

The students spent two and a half hours following along creating a majestic mountain landscape while learning innovative ways of working with oil on canvas. While the paint will take about two weeks to dry, the painters were able to take their paintings home that day carefully transported with plastic wrap. The painters can now demonstrate their newly-learned skills in wielding a fan brush, and palette knife.
